Camping
The Klamath and Salmon rivers are both ideal spots for camping out, swimming, fishing, hiking, and relaxing.
There are several campgrounds in the Somes Bar area. Oak Bottom and Nordheimer campgrounds are U.S. Forest Service campgrounds on the Salmon River. Call the Six Rivers Forest Service office in Orleans to make reservations (530)627-3291.
Further up the Salmon River on the South fork is Hotelling Campground. On the North Fork is Idlewild Campground. Call the Salmon River Forest Service in Fort Jones to make reservations.
There are also nearby R.V. campgrounds in Orleans.
